Special Educational Needs SEND
SEND and EAL
The name of our SENDCo at New Lubbesthorpe is Miss Frearson and Miss Hackett. They can be contacted via our school office. Please do not hesitate to contact with any questions or queries you may have.
Also see our policies below:
We have provided links to both Leicester and Leicestershire Local Authority Websites because the Local Offer is based on where the family lives and not where the school is located.

All children in our school are valued as individuals and we are committed to giving them every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, attainment or background. All children have access to the whole curriculum, as well as structured assessments to determine their specific learning needs.
We are very well respected for our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision within the school.
Ofsted 2013: Disabled pupils and those who have special educational needs work hard in lessons. They make similar progress to their peers because of good teaching by well-qualified adults who know their needs well.
We value contact with all parents including those parents of children who have SEN. By working closely together we can maximise the attainment and progress of these pupils.
The letters below, have come from the Department for Education and are about the future changes proposed to SEN provision from September 2014. As yet the details of how this translates into provision by the local authority are not finalised. We will keep parents updated about further developments and how they will affect the provision for children with SEN.
